The Shade Garden

  • Marin Art & Garden Center 30 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Ross, CA, 94957 United States (map)

Embrace any gardening space with this deep dive on the shade garden.  Learn about different types of shade and seasonal changes, the unique soil needs for different shady sites, and what plants work best in these sometimes tricky spots. There are any number of plants that will thrive in your garden, whether you have a north facing plot, or have space under oak trees or redwoods.  In addition to instruction and site-specific questions, you will receive a guide including sun/shade terminology, seasonal plants for different sites, and lists of tried-and-tested plants.  With demos and hands-on opportunities if you would like to practice. This is an all-levels workshop, and no prior experience is required.
